2012-2013 Season
Challenge: Ring-it-up
Ring-it-up was played on a 12'x12' diamond shaped field. We had to create a robot that could pick up rings off peg stands located around the outside perimeter of the arena, and then place the rings on a vertical 'tic-tac-toe' board. Two randomly paired robots had to work together against two others to cover the board with as many of their color rings (Red v. Blue) as possible during a thirty-second autonomous period and a two-minute teleop (human controlled) period.
More points were given for rings placed higher up, as well as bonuses for three-in-a-rows, the ability to detect weighted rings and put them on a specific peg, and for the ability to deploy a ramp that the partner robot is able to climb.

How We Did:
We chose to compete in two regional tournaments that took place in Arlington and in Lexington.
At our very first tournament, in Arlington, we came in second place out of twenty teams and won a Motivate Award for being the most supportive team and the best cheerers. For pictures and other information please click here.
At our second tournament, in Lexington, we won the tournament (out of seventeen teams)! The final two came down to us and Needham High's Boys Robotics Team, and the boy's team had to be content with second place. Both Needham teams qualified for the State Tournament. We came in tenth place in the Massachusetts State Tournament, becoming the number one all-girls robotics team in Massachusetts. For pictures and other information please click here.
